Welcome to the 2nd international Symposium on Catch Identification Technologies. The symposium will be held in Tromsø, a city located 400 km above the Artic circle and often called “the gateway to the Arctic” on the 19th-20th of March 2024.
Following the successful 1st International Symposium on Catch Identification Technologies, with more than 150 participants from 16 countries, The Directorate of Fisheries are pleased to announce the next event in the series.
To be able to accommodate the increasing demand from different stakeholders for verified documentation of sustainable and ethically managed fisheries, new technological solutions need to be developed, tested and implemented globally.
The main objective is to facilitate a global meeting place for managers, scientists, policy makers, the fishery industry, exporters, and marketers to present, discuss and share expertise on subjects related to catch identification technologies and technologies aimed to support traceability and transparency through the value chain.

The Directorate of Fisheries invites stakeholders from all parts of the industry to submit an abstract for inclusion in the program.
