No-fishing zones in the Oslofjord
In the no-fishing zones, all fishing is prohibited, both commercial and recreational. Fishing for anadromous salmonids, such as sea trout and Atlantic salmon, is also covered by the prohibition.
Crab fishing with hand lines for children will still be permitted.
The red line on the map marks the boundary of the Oslofjord.

Prohibition on cod fishing
Fishing for cod in the Oslofjord is prohibited year-round. The prohibition also applies to fishing while diving.

Fishing is prohibited from January to April in the below areas.
Gear restrictions in recreational fishing
- In the Oslofjord, recreational fishing for fish is only permitted using hand-held gear.
- The number of pots that may be used by recreational fishers in pot fishing has been reduced from 20 to 10 per person and per vessel.
- In the lobster fishery, the number of pots that may be used by recreational fishers has been reduced from 10 to 5 per person and per vessel.
- It is prohibited to fish for shrimp with pots in recreational fishing.
