From 1 January 2018, new rules apply to how much fish can be taken from Norway as a recreational fisher. Basically, you can bring 10 kilos, but if you fish under the direction of a registered tourist fishery business you can bring up to 20 kilos. You can no longer export trophy fish in addition to the quota.

Note that an export quota is valid for 7 days, which means that you have to wait seven days before you can take a new export quota out of the country.

Freshwater species, such as salmon, trout and char are not subject to the quota.
