From 1 January 2018, new rules apply to how much fish can be taken from Norway as a recreational fisher.

You are allowed to take out 10 kg of fish or fish products upon leaving Norway. If you have been fishing from a registered fishing camp, you can take up to 20 kg of fish or fish products upon leaving.

You can no longer export trophy fish in addition to the quota.

Note that you have to leave Norway for seven days before you can come back and take a new export quota out of the country.

Freshwater species, such as salmon, trout and char are not subject to the quota.
