Regulations relating to the establishment of flexible areas in 2009
On 8 January 2009, under sections 16 and 20 of the Act of 6 June 2008 No. 37 relating to the management of wild living marine resources (Marine Resources Act), sections 4 and 6 of the Act of 17 December 1976 No. 91 relating to the Economic Zone of Norway, section 13 of the Regulations of 13 May 1977 relating to fishing and hunting operations by foreign nationals in the Economic Zone of Norway, and section 55 of the Regulations of 21 December 2004 relating to sea-water fisheries, the Directorate of Fisheries laid down the following regulations:
§ 1
In the periods 1 January to 20 March 2009 inclusive and 20 October to 31 December 2009 inclusive, a flexible area shall be established on Malangsgrunnen, delimited by straight lines drawn through the following coordinates:
1. 70° 00’ N 17° 28’ E (at the fishery limit)
2. 70° 00’ N 16° 28’ E
3. 70° 14’ N 16° 58’ E
4. 70° 14’ N 17° 56’ E (at the fishery limit).
§ 2
In the period 1 January to 15 May 2009 inclusive, a flexible area shall be established on Moskenesgrunnen, delimited by straight lines drawn through the following coordinates:
1. 68° 08’ N 11° 52’ E
2. 68° 23’ N 10° 52’ E
3. 68° 42’ N 12° 17’ E
4. 68° 32’ N 12° 46’ E.
§ 3
In the period 1 January to 15 May 2009 inclusive, a flexible area shall be established on Røstbanken, delimited by straight lines drawn through the following coordinates:
1. 67° 00’ N 11° 41’ E (at the fishery limit)
2. 67° 00’ N 10° 52’ E
3. 67° 30’ N 10° 41’ E
4. 67° 53’ N 11° 15’ E
5. 67° 53’ N 12° 10.5’ E (at the fishery limit).
§ 4
These regulations enter into force immediately and apply until 31 December 2009 inclusive.
