Regulations amending the regulations relating to fishing for shrimps using vessels from Russia in the Fisheries Protection Zone around Svalbard
On 31 August 2005, pursuant to section 3 of the Royal Decree of 3 June 1977
relating to a Fisheries Protection Zone around Svalbard, the Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs prescribed as follows:

The following amendment is to be made to the Regulations of 9 May 1997 relating to fishing for shrimps using vessels from Russia in the Fisheries Protection Zone around Svalbard:
Section 1, first paragraph (amended), shall read as follows:
Up to 102 vessels flying the Russian flag are permitted to fish for shrimps in the Fisheries Protection Zone around Svalbard for a total of 3 256 days per calendar year.

These regulations enter into force on 1 January 2006.
The amended regulations read as follows:
REGULATIONS RELATING TO FISHING FOR SHRIMPS USING VESSELS FROM RUSSIA IN THE FISHERIES PROTECTION ZONE AROUND SVALBARD
Laid down by the Ministry of Fisheries on 9 May 1997, pursuant to section 3 of the Regulations of 3 June 1977 No. 6 relating to a Fisheries Protection Zone around Svalbard and section 2 of the Regulations of 19 July 1996 No. 726 relating to regulatory measures for the shrimp fisheries in the Fisheries Protection Zone around Svalbard.
§ 1
Up to 102 vessels flying the Russian flag are permitted to fish for shrimps in the Fisheries Protection Zone around Svalbard for a total of 3 256 days per calendar year.
The total number of vessels and fishing days in the shrimp fishery in the Fisheries Protection Zone around Svalbard and in the territorial and internal waters of Svalbard may not exceed the number of vessels and fishing days specified in the first paragraph.
The number of fishing days in the shrimp fishery means the number of days in the Fisheries Protection Zone and in the territorial and internal waters of Svalbard, including the days when active and passive notification are sent.
§ 2
A vessel that is to participate in shrimp fisheries in the Fisheries Protection Zone around Svalbard must be registered in advance by means of a notification to the Directorate of Fisheries.
A vessel that has registered its participation in accordance with the first paragraph may be replaced by another registered vessel. Notification of the replacement of one vessel by another must be sent to the Directorate of Fisheries before the replacement vessel starts fishing operations.
The Directorate of Fisheries may by regulations lay down further rules concerning registration pursuant to this section.
§ 3
Any wilful or negligent contravention of provisions set out in or issued pursuant to these regulations is subject to fines and confiscation pursuant to the provisions of sections 8 and 9 of the Act of 17 December 1976 No. 91 relating to the Economic Zone of Norway.
§ 4
These regulations enter into force immediately.
