Regulations amending the regulations relating to fishing for redfish in the territorial and internal waters of Svalbard
On 6 December 2004, pursuant to section 4 of the Act of 17 July 1925 No. 11 relating to Spitzbergen, cf. section 1 of the Regulations of 28 April 1978 No. 20 relating to regulatory measures for fishing in the territorial and internal waters of Svalbard, the Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs laid down the following regulations:

The following amendment shall be made to the Regulations of 22 December 1999 relating to fishing for redfish in the territorial and internal waters of Svalbard:
§ 2 (amended) shall read as follows:
§ 2. Bycatches
During fishing operations for other species in the area specified in section 1, it is permitted to have up to 15 per cent redfish by weight in each catch and in the catch landed.

These regulations enter into force on 1 January 2005.

REGULATIONS RELATING TO FISHING FOR REDFISH IN THE TERRITORIAL AND INTERNAL WATERS OF SVALBARD
Laid down by the Ministry of Fisheries on 22 December 1999, pursuant to section 4 of the Act of 17 July 1925 relating to Spitzbergen, cf. section 1 of the Regulations of 28 April 1978 No. 20 relating to regulatory measures for fishing in the territorial and internal waters of Svalbard:
§ 1 General prohibition
It is prohibited for Norwegian and foreign vessels of any kind engaged in commercial fishing or assisting the fishing fleet, including search and experimental fishing vessels, to fish for redfish in the territorial and internal waters of Svalbard.
§ 2 Bycatches
During fishing operations for other species in the area specified in section 1, it is permitted to have up to 15 per cent redfish by weight in each catch and in the catch landed.
§ 3 Penal measures
Any person who wilfully or negligently contravenes the provisions of these regulations is subject to a penalty pursuant to section 4 of the Act of 17 July 1925 No. 11 relating to Spitzbergen. Complicity or an attempt to contravene the said provisions is subject to the same penalty.
§ 4 Entry into force
These regulations enter into force on 1 January 2000.
